Fortune Centre of Riding Therapy, Avon Tyrrell (between Bransgore and Burley), BH23 8EE  (map)

This session will provide an opportunity to take part in some basic vaulting (rhythm work and mounted exercises) with the horses, involving moving with and sitting on a horse. For the vaulting, all the children would need to wear trainers or plimsolls. For the mounted work, they will each need to wear a riding hat and stout, outdoor footwear with a heel (preferably a jodhpur boot – a heel is needed to avoid the foot passing through the stirrup). If you have your own hats and boots, do please bring them along. If you don’t have a hat or suitable boots, then we can arrange for you to borrow them from FCRT on the day. Long trousers should also be worn. Tea/coffee/soft drinks will be provided during a break in the middle of the session. Suitable for both novice and experienced riders. Numbers are limited to 8 children/young people (including siblings) for the session, and children must be at least 5 years old. A medical/consent form for FCRT will need to be completed in advance of the session for each child taking part. We are happy for you to repeat this activity if you have already done it with Scarf, however we will give priority to families that have not tried this activity before.

Cost £7 per child/young person. Booking Essential.
